About Me
I graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor’s and a Master’s of Science in Accountancy with a Concentration in Tax in 1998. I have worked with several accounting firms in San Diego until I made the decision to open my own business, Heather F. Austin, CPA, in October 2004.
I work with individuals and small businesses every day and teach Financial Accounting at Grossmont Community College. What I do is important. It positively affects people's lives, whether it be complying with federal, state, and local taxing authorities, deciding whether to refinance a home, or figuring out how to fund retirement. My biggest strengths are that I care and listen carefully so I will understand what you want to accomplish. I can provide ideas, identify problems, and offer alternatives and solutions based on experience. Not only will my experience assist you, but my clients' experiences too; my contractors, school teachers, attorneys, insurance agents, website designers, realtors, appraisers, investors, coffee shop owners, choreographers, and videographers.
I work with my clients individually and I work with their advisers, financial planners, attorneys, mortgage brokers, spouses and their children, and other accountants and bookkeepers. I have learned a lot, I have seen a lot, and I can put my experience to work for you.
